Monday Motivation - November 25th

Good morning and welcome back to our regular scheduled programming… and the last Monday of November!?

Christmas. Happening. Shopping. Happening. Winter. Happening. Election. Happening. Climate change. Happening. (Brexit. ???) Lots going on. Some fun, some stressful. Some necessary, some not. Now's a great time to start thinking about how we can protect the great changes and progress we've made this year while getting ready to enjoy the festive season and potential looming challenges.

For example, please make sure you've discussed and adapted your care plan with your chiropractor to reflect the fast approaching end of the year, including travel commitments, likely boozy dinners and a potentially reduced focus on healthy habits.

Which reminds me, click here for a previous post about surviving the festive season.

And on the with new…

Morning Green Smoothie

To be honest, as the seasons have slid into the colder months I’ve found myself struggling to stay motivated to drink the green stuff I'd enjoyed through spring and summer. All my best laid plans undone by plummeting temperatures. And then... result! I was reminded by a good friend about Athletic Greens, a brilliant supplement that's basically all the good stuff in a super tasty powder that you have with water or juice – done. Tim Ferriss (and many others) have been plugging this for ages and I'm a little embarrassed that it's taken me this long to get on board. Highly recommended for the winter months and beyond.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Woah. Sounds scary. Ever found yourself buying stuff that, in hindsight, you probably didn't really need just because it was "cheap"? You're not alone. Our friends at the NY Times have seen fit to put together a great article to help us safely (and healthily) negotiate the pitfalls of pumped-up shopping.

Which reminds me of when Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was asked how he chooses which model iPhone to buy…“Here is my secret. It is very simple: it is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.”— Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (LOL, joke.)

I recently had a mini-adventure in Wales. I ran for six hours around the Gower. It rained. A lot. I loved it. The race was won by a brilliant athlete. A skinny bearded white guy? Nope. A woman - Beth Pascall. Second place also went to an amazing athlete, and also a woman, Chrissie Wellington.

The next day I came across this article in Adventure that highlights a few of the many women adventurers who've forged their own path over the years. So amazing.

My fav podcaster, Rich Roll, had the incredible Rodrigo y Gabriela on recently talking about purpose, their journey, risk, passion and music. It’s an uplifting conversation interspersed with their unique sound - great listening with a cup of warm chocolate Oatly.

That's me for this week. Let's get ready for fun and have a plan to stay healthy through the coming weeks. Hope this helps!

Thanks for reading, stay special.

Peace,

Luke x
