Monday Motivation - January 20th

Hi guys,

How are you? Honestly.

2020 is well and truly happening, London is buzzing, and global events are exciting (to say the least). Meanwhile, we're all trying to be better for ourselves and others and the pressure to stick to the resolutions, the 'new you' and obligations are only mounting - it can feel like a big ask. So, here's your weekly reminder that you are awesome, you are fortunate, you can be a better version of yourself and we're here to help.

Be Kinder to Yourself

Great advice, but weirdly quite difficult to put into action. Our friends across the pond at the NY Times have put together a wonderful list of 8 things we can all do. My fave is learning to turn your regrets into self improvement. It’s a quick, easy read.

Amazing people are all around us

People are generally amazing. Many are kind of like superheroes that go unnoticed. Right here in London, there are millions of people all with a story, all doing something, many following a dream and many making their dream a reality. Putney local John McAvoy turned his life around from criminal culture to elite sportsman and now inspires others to do the same. Listen here for some serious inspo.

Strong women role models

Imagine fleeing your home country out of fear of persecution, as a single parent with three kids, obese and trying to manage PTSD. Tough. Clarice did it.

Clarice is now a personal trainer who helps people to overcome their perceptions about themselves, and obtain the fitness to achieve their health and exercise goals. When she's not crushing marathons she's helping kids and adults in SE London. Look her up here.

New yoga

The super chill, super mindful and super bendy peeps from The House of Yoga have finally launched their new studio in Fulham. Jason, ex tennis-pro and current table tennis ninja, is spreading the love across the river and it’s stunning. Check out their mindfulness program, too, if you just like to sit...

Hope

Australia is on fire. Literally on fire. Lives, homes and wildlife gone. But from the ashes there is already new life and renewed hope. These photos are taken just a few weeks after an inferno ripped through. Nature is indeed resilient and determined. It will grow back.

Have a great week and stay special,

Luke x
