Mindful Monday - October 26th

Good morning and positive vibes to you all!

October is winding up, the clocks have changed and winter scents are in the air. Now's a great time to contemplate how you'd like to finish the year. Sure, this is a year that many of us will be happy to see the end of, but we can only navigate what's in front of us and perhaps there's still time to make this year one to be proud of.

Here are some of my recent finds that I hope you can put to good use, find inspiration in, or just simply enjoy...

The Milk Carton Kids

Cool name. Cool band. Chill tunes. Spotify radio threw up their version of my favourite Pink Floyd song, Wish You Were Here, and I've since dug into their catalogue. Press play and get wrapped up in their warm tones... Enjoy.

A positive news story

The charity Safe Ground has been running a project, Daddy, to help and support prisoners to become better fathers. They promote work to build relationship skills, which empower people to change and reduce the risk of reoffending, thus building stronger communities. Love this.

"Hey Google, tie my shoelace."

Sooooo... err... this is a thing. Firstly, Nike make shoes that basically tie their shoelaces themselves. Really. But now you can also connect them to Google Assistant and, well, have Google do it, too. Read more here. I have no words.

Farm to table

This week I subscribed to a local fruit and vegetable Farm Box thing (East Coast Organics) and enjoyed the most delicious apple I've had in about 5 years. It definitely wasn't the prettiest thing to look at but holy moly, it tasted amazing!

Londoners have some great options (Riverford, Oddbox etc.), which are a fantastic way to support farmers and keep your kitchen and recipe repertoire fresh and interesting. Leek and Potato soup anyone?

That's all from me for another week. As always, thanks for reading, thanks for your comments and remember to give yourself the gift of time to plan the rest of the year as best as you can.
