Thoughtful Thursday - October 29th

Welcome back for another Thoughtful Thursday – The Tooting Edition! Quick update from me and then on to the fun stuff courtesy of Matilda from Team Tooting.

Clinic Updates

Few small tweaks in clinic rolling out at the moment after speaking to the powers that be…

  • Protective screens will be going up at the front desks in each clinic.

  • Reception will be taking and logging your temperatures at each appointment. If your reading is high, we will ask you to leave and reschedule (without a fee).

  • Please remember to wear a mask when you’re in clinic and there are hand sanitisers around the place to keep your hands sparkling clean.

So not much that affects you all (and a bit more stuff to do on our end), but just a little fine tuning to ensure we are compliant with guidelines so we can remain available to help you all.

Where is everyone?

Putney - Ami-Bree – Maybe a crossed wire last week; on Sundays, Ami is currently running at 100% capacity with a waitlist. So if you are booked in and need to change, we really would appreciate as much notice as humanly possible to enable us to offer your appointment to someone else – worth noting we are out of office from lunch time every Saturday.

Fulham - Sammy is off tomorrow, but back to normal next week.

Tooting - Erana will be away on Friday, November 6th for a little birthday break! Meanwhile Kate V and Pearl have returned.

Marylebone Speaking of Erana, I have made the call to cotton-wool her so she will be practicing exclusively from the Tooting clinic’s bubble. SORRY! Last day in Marylebone is Tuesday, November 3rd. We will review this again once things have hopefully settled a bit more in the new year. The usual suspects in Marylebone will be available to help, or feel free to venture down to see her in Tooting if you’d like to – and keep reading to see what other fun things you can do while you’re there…

Podcast(s) of the Week

Next week the Insta live chat returns with Craig talking to Team Tooting’s newest chiropractor, Zara Watkinson! Make sure you tune in on Tuesday, November 3rd at 10am here to find out more about Zara and listen to her chiro story.

If you can’t make it, we’ll have the podcast link ready for you to listen to in next week’s newsletter. And in the meantime, you can listen to our catalogue of previous episodes here or on Spotify, Apple and Google, too.

Shameless Plug(s) of the Week by Matilda W.

Hey everyone! Matilda here, some of you may know me as the one with the skull mask and extroverted eyelashes behind the desk at our Tooting clinic. What some of you may not know is that I’m a proper Tooting native – it’s been my home for 20 years (my whole life) and I was actually born in Tooting in the downstairs living room of my family’s home!

I’ve been with Chiro.London for a year now. I absolutely love it here for many reasons. One of the main ones being interacting with a variety of different people with such great stories! I love catching up with our clients in clinic and hearing all their latest gossip. Another favourite part of my job is being a part of our clients’ healing. I really enjoy watching people change over their care plans – for example, from seeing a client walking down the stairs in a struggle to bouncing up the stairs as their appointments go by. It makes me proud to be part of such a powerful team.

As a born-and-bred Tootingite, I thought I’d share a few of my favourite neighbourhood places. I love my food, so much so I have become a regular at a couple places nearby. Often in the morning when I have time, I’ll pop over to Juliets (previously known as Milk Teeth) and treat myself to their famous ANZAC cookie accompanied by an oat flat white. The staff are so lovely and always up for a chat. I often find myself looking up the songs they’re playing, too.

If I’ve forgotten to make lunch (which seems to be a regular occurrence...) I’ll make a quick visit to Tooting Market. There are tons of great little lunch places there, and one of my favourites is Get Juiced!. Along with serving excellent juices, I also recently discovered they make vegan dishes, too – so yummy!

Away from great bites, Team Tooting is also a big fan of The Wild Hare (for the gents) and The Other Hare (for the ladies), which are super cool independent hair and beauty salons run by really lovely people.

I hope you enjoyed my top Tooting tips! Looking forward to seeing you all in clinic soon. :)

Ask the Team

Michael Lezuo DC answers your question…

I want to recommend chiropractic to a friend, but they are scared of being 'cracked'. What should I say to them?

The ‘crack’ does sometimes happen. It isn’t unhealthy or painful. When a joint is tight, it is under a lot of pressure, so when it is adjusted you can get an audible pressure release – the cracking noise. This release creates more motion and less pain around the joint.

If you are particularly scared of the sound though, there are specific tools and techniques that we can use instead to make a ‘crack’ much less likely to happen.

Well that was certainly a lot more than I expected when I asked Matilda to takeover the newsletter – hope you found it interesting! We’ll be covering all our other locations over the next few weeks so stay tuned to hear from your favourites.

Till next time,

Drew
